Regentonians around the world unite behind science at SLGS
From London to Washington D.C., alumni associations are raising funds for science and technology at the school — alongside the Union's own laboratory appeal at home.
IllustrationRegentonians may be scattered across the world, but when it comes to science at the school, they are pulling in the same direction.
United Kingdom
The SLGS Old Boys Association in the UK, working through the SLGS OBA Foundation Trust (a registered charity), runs the STEM for SLGS campaign — a pledge marking the school’s 175th anniversary to modernise science and technology teaching. Old Boys in the UK have even run the London Marathon to raise funds.
North America
The Washington D.C. Metro Area chapter of the SLGS Alumni Association of North America has made a science laboratories renovation one of its 2026 projects. Its members have also funded improved washrooms and safe drinking-water stations at the school.
At home
In Freetown, the Union’s Improvement Committee is leading the renovation of the Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories, with the Annual Dinner & Dance on 20 November raising funds for the work.
Wherever you live, there is a way to help. Find your chapter, or give directly to the laboratory appeal.
